Two brand-new 4-Axle Dump Truck are being loaded by BENCHI VEHICLE for export delivery. They are being prepared for shipment to the vast steppes of Kazakhstan. The order comes from a contractor responsible for transporting sand, gravel, and blasted rock between open-pit mines and an ever-expanding network of road construction projects. Long-distance hauls, harsh winters, and rugged terrain demand equipment that is both powerful and easy to maintain—precisely what these two trailers were designed to deliver.
In Kazakhstan, operations are unequivocally conducted on a massive scale. With quarries located hundreds of kilometers from concrete mixing plants, round-trip transport consumes vast amounts of time, fuel, and labor. Consequently, every cubic meter saved within the transport schedule is of critical importance. For this reason, the client opted directly for BENCHI’s 80-ton, four-axle trailer. Featuring internal hopper dimensions of 8,500 × 2,450 × 1,700 mm, a single trailer offers a payload capacity roughly equivalent to that of two traditional rigid trucks; this effectively halves transport times, thereby freeing up more mileage for profitable hauling.
Without a robust skeletal structure, load-bearing capacity is rendered meaningless. Consequently, BENCHI begins by constructing a 500 mm deep main beam forged from high-strength steel: featuring a 16 mm thick upper flange, an 18 mm thick lower flange, and a 10 mm thick central web. A reinforcing rib has been added to the lower flange at the point of maximum bending stress. The 8 mm thick flat floor plate and 6 mm thick U-shaped side panels are designed to effortlessly withstand the impact of crushed granite, while a reinforced subframe efficiently transmits shock loads directly to the suspension system. Need proof of this chassis’s strength? The leaf springs on the second, third, and fourth axles have been upgraded—widened to 12 mm and thickened to 16 mm—and the kingpin features a heavy-duty, 35-ton class design.
The chassis is equally practical. It features four FUWA drum-brake axles—each rated for a 13-ton load—paired with 1200 R20-18 tires; the front axle is detachable, allowing for savings on tire wear and diesel fuel when the vehicle is running unloaded. The front section utilizes air suspension to effectively absorb road bumps, while the three rear axles employ a robust and durable mechanical suspension system designed for longevity. The braking system incorporates dual-chamber brake cylinders, supplied by a 40-liter aluminum air reservoir via a WABCO relay valve and an ABS system. In short, modern electronic instrumentation allows the driver to monitor the operational status of every wheel.
Winter weather in Kazakhstan is notoriously unpredictable—shifting from dusty conditions to a full-blown blizzard in a single afternoon—making cargo protection absolutely critical. Each trailer is equipped with an electric tarp system, mounted beneath a bolted-on rain hood; with the simple push of a button, the cargo can be sealed tight in mere seconds, keeping it dry and preventing fines at weigh stations caused by spilled loads. The tarp motor is discreetly housed alongside a Series 214 hydraulic cylinder—a component that, in its own right, delivers smooth, controlled tipping operations—free from sudden jolts and without wasting a single moment.
Operator convenience has not been overlooked. Aluminum side guards, integrated mudguards, an alloy toolbox, and a spare tire carrier are all included as standard equipment; additionally, the unit features a 7-pin wiring harness with European-standard lighting, E-mark certified light fixtures, and WABCO quick-release air hose couplings. Even the fire extinguisher is housed in a weatherproof plastic box, positioned near the landing gear within easy reach.
Although this model comes standard with the aforementioned specifications, BENCHI also offers customization options—based on the same platform—regarding wheelbase, body height, or steel grade to meet specific client payload requirements or local regulatory standards. This flexibility, combined with a tare weight of just 13 tons, enables transport managers to maximize every kilogram of legal payload without the worry of incurring fines.
These two trailers are scheduled to leave the factory this week, bound for the Port of Lianyungang, from where they will be transported overland to Aktau. Upon arrival, the true test will begin: they will be subjected to continuous, high-intensity loads—24 hours a day—amidst extreme temperature fluctuations ranging from -30°C to +40°C. BENCHI Vehicles designed these two trailers with these specific challenges firmly in mind, and the company remains confident that they will prove their worth from the very first day of operation.
